King Gavin + Queen Delaney
Gavin is the 12 year old son of Jennifer & Donnie Moore and Brian & Jenna Sims. He enjoys playing his Xbox, singing, watching football, drawing, and taking day trips riding with his grandfather sight-seeing. He also enjoys creating pottery with his grandmother. Born with Spina Bifida, at USA Children's and Women's Hospital, Gavin has endured nearly 30 procedures and surgeries combined. His mother often tells him, "You are strong, you are brave, and you CAN do anything!" Gavin's bravery and strong-will has inspired many, and he touches the hearts of everyone he meets. Gavin wants to be an orthopaedic surgeon when he grows up...
Delaney is 13 and the daughter of Michael and Jenni Zimlich. She enjoys reading, crochet, baking, water skiing, Girl Scouts, painting, and wheelchair racing. She loves going to the veterinary clinic with her Dad where she helps volunteer and love on the all the critters. She has a home filled with love, pets and family. She was the Alabama Children’s Miracle Network ambassador for the state of Alabama 2016-2017. Born with Spina Bifida, she was admitted for emergency surgery at USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital on her first day of life. She was cared for in their NICU for 2 weeks and has had several surgeries since. She has become lifelong friends with her physicians and nurses. Her motto is to “Have courage and be kind”!

Queen Shandy and King Art
Shandy is the daughter of Casey and Sam Platt, She enjoys volunteering at the YMCA and South Baldwin Hospital. Shandy possesses a true passion for Wheelchair Racing, and Health and Fitness. She participates in wheelchair racing as a member of Team Catapult and Global Wheelchair Athletics. She enjoys spending time out on the trails training for races. She also enjoys going to concerts and going on family vacations.
Art was injured in 2006 working in disaster recovery as a tree climber. Art owns and operates a landscaping company known as Yard Art. Art has been using a racing chair for over 8 years and has recently joined the Global Wheelchair Athletics team. He enjoys mentoring young wheelchair athletes and working with them on their goals.
